It’s a Founder’s Program kind of day today…  The MechWarrior Tactics team has also announced their Founder’s Program!

As you might expect, since MWO and MWT share the same publisher, MWT has used the same tiers that MWO did.

According to what the pre-order page says, the Veteran package gets you $102 worth of goodies, for $20.  While the Legendary gets you a whopping $642 worth of shiny stuff for $120!

The Seventh Kommando Mechs that are in the packs, seem to be pretty well equipped (at least according to the loadout on the Founder’s Atlas seen in the screen shot over at the RTSGuru article on the Founder’s Program).  There doesn’t seem to be anything explaining the difference between a Seventh Kommando MechWarrior, and a ‘regular’ MechWarrior in game.  Since the 7th K didn’t HAVE any MechWarriors in the BattleTech Lore, I can’t guess on the pilot capabilities.

One important (and not really announced tidbit) out of this Founder’s program, is that MWT is going to have three tiers of ‘premium’ account once the game goes live (Lance, Company, Battalion).  There is no indication of price for the premium accounts yet, but the ordering FAQ gives a quick breakdown of what those tiers will give:

 

Lance Tier 

  • – 500k C-bills – delivered once per month
  • – 10% Scrap Bonus Per Match
  • – 25% Experience Bonus Per Match
  • – Premium Store Access

Company Tier 

  • – 1,500k C-bills – delivered once per month
  • – 25% Scrap Bonus Per Match
  • – 50% Experience Bonus Per Match
  • – Premium Store Access

Battalion Tier

  • – 2,500k C-bills – delivered once per month
  • – 50% Scrap Bonus Per Match
  • – 100% Experience Bonus Per Match
  • – Premium Store Access

The premium store, is where you’ll be able to purchase any of the themed STACs that are no longer still for sale.

All three founder’s packs also include immediate access to the closed beta!  Which is good.  If the MWT team is opening up closed beta to that many folks, the game must be coming along nicely!  You also get a badge in the forums to show your level of support.

The Seventh Kommando is the elite, super secret, special forces arm of Wolf’s Dragoons, so it’s very cool that the MWT team tied their Founder’s program in to the game’s lore!
