Gearscore was already taken ;)
A thread cropped up over on the official forums concerned that BW was adding gear score into TOR (for those who don’t know, Gearscore is a WoW addon that assigned a point value to all your gear, with the erroneous assumption that higher = better). A lot of folks feel that Gearscore is one of the ’causes’ of WoW’s bad community. In truth, Gearscore is a tool, that just ended up getting really, really, misused (no one needs a 5k gear score to run a 5 man in Wrath!).
Georg addressed this tonight over on the forums:
Since all weapons and armor in SWTOR have modification slots, this rating is not reflective of the overall quality of the item, since that’s up to what the user slots into the item.
Damion may elaborate more, but I think you guys are overreacting a bit
So, while gear has rating associated with it, it doesn’t look like it’s Gearscorish to me since the gear can be ‘modified’ via upgrade slots.
