Blizzard announced today that they are laying off about 600 people worldwide.<\/p>\n
Over the last several years, we’ve grown our organization tremendously and made large investments in our infrastructure in order to better serve our global community. However, as Blizzard and the industry have evolved we’ve also had to make some difficult decisions in order to address the changing needs of our company.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
From what I’ve read so far this morning, Blizzard has indicated the layoffs won’t come from game development.. so I guess it’s customer service, community, and some of the other ‘support’ branches that are getting let go.<\/p>\n
Hopefully the folks that are suddenly out of work, will be able to find new gigs soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
