Hello people! \u00c2\u00a0So, as you probably don’t know because I don’t think I ever wrote about him, my favorite character in WildStar is Darth Kail, the badass Mordesh Engineer! \u00c2\u00a0So, I have lately decided to start writing stories about him. \u00c2\u00a0I have the first five done, and I will post them once a week. \u00c2\u00a0Here’s the first one, enjoy!<\/p>\n
The Raid of Deradune<\/b><\/p>\n
Book one of the Adventures of Darth Kail<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n It was a warm day when they called him in. \u00c2\u00a0One of the heroes of the Exiles, they thought he was well-suited for the job. \u00c2\u00a0FCON was planning an attack, and they thought they couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t win without him. \u00c2\u00a0Kail Kasparoff, known to his friends as Darth Kail, and to most as Agent Kasparoff. \u00c2\u00a0When he got the call on his comlink, he went as fast as he could. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n When he arrived, they were waiting for him. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153There you are,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said General Stonebreaker. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153And wondering what the rush is,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d replied Kail. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re planning an attack,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d answered Deadeye Brightland. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll give us a foothold against the Dominion.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153And where will this attack be?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span> \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The desert?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The very same.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I know of this place. \u00c2\u00a0Draken territory, practically owned by Clanlord Makaza.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Well\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 \u00c2\u00a0We want you to help in the attack.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I gathered.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be leading about 150 men.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153When do we start?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Two weeks later<\/b><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Alright, men,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d says Kail, yelling to be heard over the fighters. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You know your mission. \u00c2\u00a0Secure a foothold in Deradune, and hold the position until FCON sends more men to claim it for the Exiles. \u00c2\u00a0From there, we move until we can secure Deradune and kill Clanlord Makaza. \u00c2\u00a0When you are ready, board the fighters. \u00c2\u00a0And one more thing\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 \u00c2\u00a0There won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be any holo-crypts\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 \u00c2\u00a0So try not to die.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Deradune<\/b><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Anyone dead?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153No, sir.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Good,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Kail answers. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Listen up!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he says, yelling now to be heard, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Looks like we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re about 3 kilometers from the Feralplain Collective. \u00c2\u00a0If you read the brief, you know that is where the Chua work. \u00c2\u00a0We will attack there, and when FCON drops the reinforcements, move south to Bloodfire Village. \u00c2\u00a0We will take the route to the southwest, as they will not expect that.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n They walk until they can see the Collective, and Kail calls \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Stop!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. \u00c2\u00a0No one knows why. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We will rest, for 30 minutes. \u00c2\u00a0Check your armor, weapons. \u00c2\u00a0Get some food. \u00c2\u00a0We leave when I say.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Yes, sir!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thirty Minutes Later<\/b><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Let us go.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0They walk across the desert. \u00c2\u00a0When they are within 5 minutes of the Collective, someone yells \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Snipers!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and soldiers start falling. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Where are our snipers?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d asks Kail. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153If they are not dead, get to cover and fight back!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0About 25 men run to cover behind rocks, trees, Granoks, anything they can find. \u00c2\u00a0The rest of them run into battle. \u00c2\u00a0Kail\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bruiserbot jumps onto a guard, and, using its legs as claws, rips him to pieces. \u00c2\u00a0Then, Kail follows his Bruiserbot, making a bigger trail of Dominion bodies. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153TANKS!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d calls a soldier. \u00c2\u00a0He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not wrong, and from around the corner, come three tanks. \u00c2\u00a0Almost all soldiers ignore the Dominion men and start firing at the tanks. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153No! \u00c2\u00a0Attack the infantry!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d commands Kail. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Stone, Karavax, Johnson, start firing on those tanks! \u00c2\u00a0The rest of you, when they stop shooting at you, help us!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0The commands are executed to the letter. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Karavax is down!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d calls Stone. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Take cover!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d commands Kail. \u00c2\u00a0Something flies through the air, and there is a cacophonous explosion. \u00c2\u00a0A tank\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s cockpit goes flying into the air, and lands about 50 feet away from its original position. \u00c2\u00a0Another is so badly damaged that after a few shots from the remaining soldiers, it too is destroyed, though without a tremendous explosion. \u00c2\u00a0The third is damaged, but not enough to not be a threat. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Divert all fire to the tank!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d yells Kail. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I want it destroyed!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0Within five minutes, the Exiles have taken control of the Feralplain Collective. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Nice work. \u00c2\u00a0Check your weapons, repair your armor, heal the wounded, and eat. \u00c2\u00a0We leave as soon as FCON secures this place.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0As Kail is going around, ensuring that the orders are being followed, he notices something. \u00c2\u00a0A spark, coming out of his Repairbot. \u00c2\u00a0It was shot by a Chua. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Come, R3, I will repair you.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Look!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d calls a soldier. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Drop pods!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Good. \u00c2\u00a0I will meet them. \u00c2\u00a0Barkfield, with me.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The drop pods are indeed Exiles, and when they open, Durek Stonebreaker is in the first one.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153General,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d says Kail, saluting. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I assume your presence means that I am relieved of command?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Nope,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d says Stonebreaker. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m leading a different attack. \u00c2\u00a0We will head east, to the gates of Illium. \u00c2\u00a0You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll still take the Village, though.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n While they are talking, they see about 30 soldiers coming. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153There they are! \u00c2\u00a0They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll hold this position so you can move on.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Understood. \u00c2\u00a0We will leave now.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n They walk until dusk. \u00c2\u00a0After that, they stop to eat and rest. \u00c2\u00a0They set up camp, and after a while, Kail and a few other soldiers go out to scout while there is still daylight. \u00c2\u00a0After a while, they come to a huge cage. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153What the [BLEEP] is that?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d asks one of the soldiers. \u00c2\u00a0The cage starts opening, and they don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have time to run. \u00c2\u00a0Out comes a giant beast, with metal covering it. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Is it a robot?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d asks an Aurin. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153No, it is augmented,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d answers Kail. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Cover me. \u00c2\u00a0I can deactivate it.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0He pulls out a device, and opens it. \u00c2\u00a0He hears the beast roar, and gunfire. \u00c2\u00a0He flips open the circuits, and connects some wires. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Hurry up!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d yells a soldier. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t hold him much longer!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Is it the red switch or the blue one\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153NOW!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d yells a soldier. <\/span><\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Forget it,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d says Kail, flipping the red switch and throwing the device. \u00c2\u00a0It lands under Metal Maw, as the soldiers have started calling it, and electricity zaps out of the device, into the beast. \u00c2\u00a0It gives a terrible roar, and the augmentations seem to absorb the electricity, effectively supercharging the beast. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I suppose it was the blue switch,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he mumbles. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153RETREAT!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he yells. \u00c2\u00a0The soldiers run, the beast chasing them the whole way. \u00c2\u00a0They abandon the Collective, and run for the original landing point, only to find it overrun with Chua. \u00c2\u00a0They turn to each other, and call for Durek on the comms. \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Through no fault of my own, there is a supercharged beast running through Deradune. \u00c2\u00a0We will try and get it back in the cage, but you had best call for extraction.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0They all run back to the cage, and herd it in. \u00c2\u00a0Then they start firing at the cage door, and just as the beast is about to get out, the door falls on it. \u00c2\u00a0They return to Feralplain Collective, where Exile fighters are waiting to extract them. \u00c2\u00a0They climb in, and return to Thayd. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Back in Thayd<\/b><\/p>\n The news of the attack spreads quickly. \u00c2\u00a0Exiles all over Nexus are wondering about the beast that has been officially dubbed Metal Maw. \u00c2\u00a0Kail\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s official report says that he expects that 20 well-armed soldiers could bring it down, and that 10 might be able to if they flip the blue switch, though he will not explain that part. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The End<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
