{"id":1135,"date":"2013-07-23T16:22:31","date_gmt":"2013-07-23T22:22:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bigdamnheroes.org\/?p=1135"},"modified":"2013-07-23T16:22:31","modified_gmt":"2013-07-23T22:22:31","slug":"for-sarah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bigdamnheroes.org\/?p=1135","title":{"rendered":"For Sarah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back in May, the folks over at MWO let the community know that one of the youngest MWO fans had passed away as a result of cancer.\u00c2\u00a0 The MWO community came together, and asked for some way to commemorate Sarah.\u00c2\u00a0 In response, IPG and PGI have given us &#8216;Sarah&#8217;s Jenner&#8217; (Sarah&#8217;s favorite &#8216;Mech to pilot).<\/p>\n<p>This commemorative Jenner is available from the MWO <a href=\"http:\/\/mwomercs.com\/sarah\" target=\"_blank\">site<\/a>, and all proceeds go to the Canadian Cancer Society.\u00c2\u00a0 So, find the $10 that the Steam Summer Sale didn&#8217;t suck from your wallet, and put it towards a good cause:<\/p>\n<p>(As of this writing, the MWO community has raised $20,300 via this tribute).<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2lCRkUmZb9U\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div>\n<h1>Sarah Parries<\/h1>\n<p>In May 2013, we were overwhelmed with support for Sarah Parries, one of our youngest MechWarriors who tragically lost her life to cancer in Vancouver, Canada. We would like to reiterate our deepest condolences for Sarah&#8217;s loved ones, who have expressed their sincerest appreciation for the incredible outpour of sympathy from the MechWarrior Online Community.<\/p>\n<p>We are delighted to have been petitioned by our fans to take this as an opportunity to honor our fallen comrade and to raise donations for the Canadian Cancer Society through the sale of a unique version of Sarah&#8217;s favourite Mech.<\/p>\n<p>Purchase this special Mech for $10 USD and we will donate the proceeds raised to cancer research in memory of Sarah and MechWarriors affected by cancer worldwide. Full details can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/mwomercs.com\/forums\/topic\/127845-sarahs-mech-frequently-asked-questions\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><sup>*<\/sup><small>100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society, net of applicable Sales Taxes and third-party transaction fees such as credit card and payment processing fees. These fees typically represent less than 4%.
